What roofing materials does Straight Up Roofing recommend?

We recommend proven, high-quality roofing materials designed for New Zealand's climate. Popular options include Colorsteel®, Maxam®, long-run iron roofing, and Gerard pressed Steel Tiles, all chosen for their durability, aesthetics, and low maintenance.

How long does a typical roof replacement take?

Most residential roof replacements typically take between 3–5 days, depending on the size and complexity of the project. We always provide a clear timeline during our initial consultation.

What roofing styles are popular in New Zealand?

In New Zealand, the most popular roofing styles include long-run corrugated iron, tray roofing, standing-seam metal roofs, and pressed-metal tiles. These materials combine performance, longevity, and a visually appealing design.

Can you install new roofing over my existing roof?

While it's sometimes possible to overlay new roofing material on existing roofs, we usually recommend removing the old material first. This ensures structural integrity, enables proper inspection of the substrate, and avoids moisture issues in the future. In some exceptions with structural integrity of roof, or asbestos situations, the Concealed fixing solution from Gerard may sometimes be applicable.

What maintenance does a metal roof require?

Metal roofs require minimal maintenance. Annual cleaning to remove debris and dirt, inspection for rust, and checking sealants around flashings and penetrations are typically sufficient to ensure a long lifespan.

Do you provide warranties or guarantees for roofing work?

Absolutely. Straight Up Roofing provides a 7-year workmanship guarantee. Additionally, all roofing materials we use come with comprehensive product warranties, giving you complete peace of mind.

How can I tell if my roof needs replacing or just repairs?

Common signs that your roof needs replacing include widespread rust, extensive leaks, missing or cracked tiles, and obvious sagging or structural issues. Minor damage or isolated leaks usually indicate that repair might suffice. Our Licensed Building Practitioners can provide a professional assessment to guide your decision.

Are your roofers qualified or certified?

Yes, our team members are highly skilled, and all projects are overseen by a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP). You can trust that your roofing project is in experienced, capable hands.

Can you handle specialised roofing or challenging roof shapes?

Definitely. Our team is experienced in handling all types of roofing, from standard residential roofs to architecturally designed, complex roofing systems. We enjoy the challenge and pride ourselves on delivering exceptional results for even the most unique roofing projects.
